Hand Foot and Mouth Outbreak

Hand Foot and Mouth Outbreak
Posted on 12/14/2017
Hand Foot and MouthDear Parents,
Several Miami ISD students have been diagnosed with Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease(HFMD). This is a virus that is contagious. Typically, people will run a fever for a day or two before blisters appear on the hands, feet, or in or around the mouth. Please do not send your child to school until he or she has been at least 24 hours fever free without the use of Tylenol or Advil and the blisters are dry. You will find information about HFMD in the link below. We are sanitizing all hard surfaces and reminding students to wash their hands often. If you have questions, please contact the school nurse, Katelyn Booze, at katelyn.booze@region16.net or call the school to speak with an administrator.
Sincerely,
Miami IS Administration
