Nurse Annika Coverdale graduated successfully from Louise de Marillac Nursing School in Cologne, Germany in 2006. She worked in a Home Health Care and Hospice facility in Bruhl, Germany for ten years specializing in wound care management. She was certified by the TUV Rheinland Academy in 2011. While there, she worked with mostly elderly patients. She enjoyed getting to know each of her patients, hearing their stories, life experiences, and being able to care for them, brought Nurse Coverdale great joy.
In 2016, Nurse Coverdale decided to move to the United States with her daughter Marita. While transferring her German Nursing Diploma to be a Registered Nurse in Texas, she worked at the Perryton Health Center in Perryton, TX. In 2018 she was offered the School Nurse position at Wright Elementary also in Perryton, TX. She stayed with them for one year until she was transferred to Perryton Kindergarten and Junior High in 2019. Nurse Coverdale was the school districts primary Vaccine Coordinator and became the Head Nurse of Perryton ISD in 2021. After serving Perryton ISD, Nurse Coverdale wanted to move closer to her home in Pampa, TX. It was with great timing that the full-time Nurse position came open with Miami ISD.
Nurse Coverdale enjoys working with children. She loves them for their innocent honesty, their happy spirits, their politeness, and their ambition to be successful, and most importantly their ornery jokes. Nurse Coverdale teaches Anatomy & Physiology at Miami ISD, and also proctors the Health Sciences Classes. She finds joy in support each student who discovers an interest in the medical field. She appreciates the helpfulness and comradeship between the students and feels blessed to be a part of Miami ISD.
